BRITAM Towers

Howard Humphreys provided Engineering design and Supervision in Chief services of Civil/Structural engineering works for British American (BRITAM) Investments Limited. This project entailed construction of a 30 storey office block of gross 18,000m2 lettable area and 612 parking bays on 1.5 acres plot in Upperhill, Nairobi. Britam Tower became the first building in East Africa to be certified under the Edge sustainability programme and was crowned best ‘MEP Engineering’ project at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Awards.

Two Rivers Mall

The 9th API Summit and Expo 2018 which is Africa’s largest investment and development conference, recognized innovation and outstanding achievement across the entire property industry. Two Rivers bagged an award in the mixed-use development category placing Howard Humphreys in the map as Engineers of choice. Two rivers mall is the largest in sub-Saharan Africa outside of South Africa and our designs enabled people to gather and connect by creating spaces within the complex for both intimate outings and multicultural events. A Kenya Vision 2030 flagship project, it has economic benefits by providing employment opportunities for 10,000 Kenyans. Howard Humphreys were privileged to provided Structural and civil engineering services from inception and options evaluations, concept design, preliminary design and detailed design through to tender action, construction supervision and project handover and closeout for Two Rivers which was a 125,000m2 Retail, Entertainment and Lifestyle development.

Aga Khan University Centre

Howard Humphreys have been providing Structural, civil, mechanical and electrical engineering services for the design, preparation of drawings, Specifications and supervision of Aga Khan University Centre. Further a comprehensive traffic impact Study was conducted to explore the feasibility of providing access/egress to the AKUH from Limuru. Howard Humphreys were honored to provide engineering services whilst addressing issues such a climate change, sustainability and energy security. The team proposed innovative and low carbon solutions for Structural, Mechanical and Electrical achieving over 40% EDGE accreditation requirement.
